PROJECT OCTOPUSSY

The idea for this project was born in 2018, but the more I think about it the more I realize that it has deep and distant roots. One of the triggers of the project was a radio program of Rete1 (a Swiss Italian radio station). One Sunday evening, traveling by car to Zurich, a commentator said that one of the most popular professions of the future will be the landscape architect of virtual reality. I look around me and inside me I say….what an absurdity. The other triggering factor of this madness is a Facebook post of the “Marco Lucchetti Art Gallery” representing Venerea, designed by Adriano De Vincentiis. Do you know when an event happens and at that very moment you are aware that all the pieces of the puzzle match perfectly? The landscape architect of virtual reality made my fantasy fly towards futuristic plots while Adriano’s wonderful trait in drawing women brought me back to reality.

From this came the idea of developing a story and a screenplay for a comic strip in the hope that Adriano would be interested in drawing it and that a publisher would be willing to procude it. The main story is still being elaborated in my head, but some more or less final versions of spin-offs describing the protagonists and the prologue are already black on white. From the stories I will then have to move on to the scripts and dialogues. In the meantime, to celebrate the lightning strike with Adriano’s art, I decided to produce T-shirts depicting the protagonists of the comic strip. The final result is exceptional!
